The ceremonies I do.
I am a proud supporter of Marriage Equality. The Australian Marriage Act 1961 was amended on 9 December 2017 to allow same sex couples to marry. My approach to preparing and delivering a marriage ceremony is the same for ALL couples.
Marriage – Tailor Made
This ceremony is the most common and tailor-made for you, it is your story and therefore unique. As with all marriage ceremonies there are a number of legal requirements that must be met but after that we can create whatever you would like. I will take you through some format examples when we meet.
Marriage – Legals Only
This ceremony only includes what is legally required to marry you and your partner in Australia. The ceremony does not include your stories. It is a no frills event. A legals only ceremony takes approximately 10 minutes. In attendance are you and your partner, two witnesses and myself.
Renewal of Vows
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the commitment you made through your wedding vows. A celebration of the past and the future with the family that may not have been there on your wedding day. How great to have your children witness your vow renewal. This is a tailor-made ceremony, there are no legal requirements involved.
Commitment Ceremony
This ceremony is similar to a marriage ceremony but there are no legal requirements involved and therefore not legally binding. The ceremony usually involves the unique story of the couple with a focus on the commitment the couple are making in relation to their future together.
Naming Ceremony
This ceremony is a celebration of formally naming, acknowledging and welcoming, usually a child, into the family and community. This is a tailor-made ceremony, there are no legal requirements involved.
